Online Learning: Synchronous or Asynchronous?

Learn about sucesses and misses when it comes to online learning formats. Should class be live with actual interaction between the faculty and students or should class be canned so students can work through the content on a more individual basis? What are successful ways to engage students in an online environment? Hear about graduate law (LL.M.) programs that are online and decide for yourself. Attendees should have some very basic knowledge about possible online platforms. The session will help those working with J.D. programs plan for growth in online classes that may occur when the ABA considers expanding distance education for J.D. students to 30 credits next fall. Pros and cons of each type of format will be discussed. Brief demostrations of each type of format will occur as well (although all may be canned for convenience).
